Future Forecast - Thursday, October 8, 2020

 Here you folks...another sunny day with the highs in the low 80s! 

Sedalia never disappoints us with the weather!




Day 3 - In The Books

 Wow, one day three series completed.

Our first series was the 5th, Land Double with Dead Rooster & Hen Flyer. We started at 7:56 am with the first running dog and ended at 9:43 am. We had 24 dogs to start and we dropped one due to a pick up. Dog #15 was the only one to get a no bird, however, he got 2 times.

The second series for the day was 6th, Water Double where the ducks where thrown 322 yards and 252 yards from the mat. We started this series at 10:42 with dog #20 and ended it at 1:44 pm. Callbacks came in and 21 dogs were called back to the 7th. The two dogs dropped, one had to be resent and the other needed assistance from the gunners.

The third and final test for the day was the quick 7th Series Land Double with two hen Pheasants. We started this test at 2:49 pm and completed it at 4:04 pm. Just under two hours all 21 dogs competed this test. We only had one no bird/re-run with our first dog to the line. 21 dogs were called and 1 dogs was dropped.

Callbacks to the 8th Series

 20 dogs are called back to the 8th Series: 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 30.

Dogs dropped: # 2.

We will be starting the 8th series with dog #7.

Test dogs at 7:45 am with the first running dog @ 8:00 am.

Conclusion of the 7th Series - Land Double with Hen Pheasants

We started this quick series at 2:49 pm and 21 dogs completed it in just under two hours. Dog #27 started it off with a no-bird, so our first dog to actually complete the series was #28. We had a quick re-bird at 3:26 pm after dog #12. We were back in action with #13 came to the line at 3:31 pm. And we completed this series at 4:04 pm with dog # 26.

We only had the one no-bird/re-run.

We will be posting the callbacks as soon as we get them and any other announcements.

26. Mack's Ripper's Ace, "Rip," BLM, Clint Avant

 To the line at 4:01 pm

Right - Smack! Perfect Line

Left - Very Nice Job

 


 

25. Premier Retrievers Black Ops Special, "King," BLM, Christian Alt

To the line at 3:58 pm

Right - King went wide left and stopped and turned back right then went straight to the bird.

Left - he came in to the left, then turned right for a loop and quickly went back down to his bird.




23. Last Chance To Rebel, "Chance," YLM, Jason Smith

 To the line at 3:55 pm

Right - Chance made a quick job of going in just left of the bird, a quick turn and he got it.

Left (long throw) - He came in deep on this long throw, but he got on his second pass.




22. Seaside's The Saint, "Simon," BLM, Jason Baker

To the line at 3:52 pm

Right - Good job on this bird.

Left -(A hawk landed on this bird and gunners had to show it away.) - Excellent line and mark!




21. I'll Have Another, "Ace," BLM, James Roberts

To the line at 3:49 pm

Right - Great line!

Left - Ace went left and short of the bird. He had to circle back to get it.




20. Oklahoma's Sooner Be Tatum, "Tatum," BLF, David Graf

 To the line at 3:45 pm

Right - Straight to the bird

Left (long throw) - Tatum crossed to the area right of the bird, she took a turn left and got it.




18. Third Creek's Miss Money Penny, "M," BLF, Lori Morgan

To the line at 3:40 pm

Right - Her line was wide left but she adjusted and quickly got the bird.

Left - Going under the arc to the cover, she made a quick turn and got the bird.




16. Mudslinger's Teerific Vision, "TJ," YLM, Clint Avant

To the line at 3:37 pm

Right - TJ's line went under the arc up wind of the bird. He got deep in his hunt going over by the guns then back left to the bird.

Left - He was on the right line going out. Went under the arc of the throw then hunted the cover deep for 2 passes then got his bird when he moved left and in towards the mat.




15. Steadfast John Bates Cork Of Winchester, "Boomer," BLM, Christian Alt

To the line - 3:33 pm

Right - Boomer went left of the fall, made a turn left then right and went to the bird.

Left - Getting under the arc and to the brush, he turned left and got the bird.




13. Hot Lips Houlihan, "Houli," CLF, Delana Potter-Meiers

To the line at 3:31 pm

Right - Houli went under the arc up wind, then turned and worked it out to her bird.

Left - Up wind and got close to the guns. She went to the brush and quickly left to her mark.




7th Series - Re-Bird / Gun Change

 Wow is this test going fast!

We started at 2:49 pm and less than an hour at 3:26 pm we are re-birding!

Ten more dogs to go and we will have the 7th Series completed!

12. Green Rivers Unchained, "Link," BLF, Marc Patton

 Right - Perfect Line

Left - Took the left side of the field, Link went two steps past and stopped, turned and went and got his bird.




9. Topbrass Flying Redd Hawk Of Mtn Sky, "Redd," GM, Wayne Dorband

To the line at 3:20

Right - Redd went past the mark and established a hunt up wind. He quickly turned to the left and got it.

Left - Nice Job, he got out just right of the bird, turned and put his nose on it.




8. Blue Oyster Rush, "Rush," BLM, Pamela King

 To the line at 3:16 pm

Right - Rush came in wide left on a long throw. He turned right and worked his way straight to the bird.

Left - He up wind in front of the guns getting to the cover, he made two loops and got the bird.




7. Legacys Coal-Fired Simmer Down, "Ash," BLM, Cynean Bartlett

To the line at 3:13 pm

Right - Perfect Line

Left - Ash went just to the right of the fall and got into the bushes. He quickly turned back and got the bird.




Re-Run - 27. Toplines Everlasting Rock, "Rocky," BLM, Marc Patton

Right - Went out right of the bird, Rocky took one turn and a loop left to get it.

Left - Went through the test to the cover and quickly went left to come back down and get the bird.




5. Wilson's Duck Farm Tucker, "Tucker," BLM, Clint Avant

To the line at 3:06 pm

Right - Came in up wind to make one good turn to the left and got the bird.

Left - Nice line going up wind close to the guns. He circled deep then went by the tree then moved quickly down to the bird.




4. Croc's Appetite For Destruction, "Axl," BLM, Christian Alt

To the line at 3:03 pm

Right - Straight to the fall area then to the bird - Good Job

Left - Axl went out wide right. He adjusted the line then went straight to the bird.




3. Lone Star's Ramblin Randy, "Randy," YLM, David Graf

 To the line at 3:00 pm

Right - Perfect line

Left - Came in on top of the bird - Nice.




2. Ford's Take A Chance On Me, "Chance," BLM, Larry Ford

 To the line at 2:56 pm

Right - Chance came in just left, where he took two steps to get the bird.

Left - Up wind by the guns, he went deep right to the road and hunted the cover down to the base of the hill and got the bird.




30. Rimfire's I'm Your Huckleberry, "Huck," BLM, Rod Sage

Right - Very nice line straight to the bird.

Left - Adjust the line as he ran. He came in up wind and hunted the cover deep then to the left. Huck came back and got the bird.




28. Dry Creeks Tru Blu, "Trudy," BLF, George Metka

To the line at 2:49 pm

Right - Came in one step to the left of the mark. Very Nice

Left - Perfect Line!




No Bird - 27. Toplines Everlasting Rock, "Rocky," BLM, Marc Patton

 No Bird for our starting dog. The bird went to far.

Rocky will be back in 7th spot back for his re-run.

7th Series - Test Dogs

Female Test Dog, "TC," came to the line at 2:37 pm

Right - Went straight to the bird.

Left - Straight to the fall area for a quick turn and got it.



Male Test Dog, "Marty," came to the line at 2:40 pm

Right - One tight loop just to the right of the mark and a quick turn to grab the bird.

Left - Excellent line to get his bird.


Seventh Series – Land Double with Two Hen Pheasants

The mat for Test 7 sits on a mound facing south. The wind is out of the west. There is a road that runs front to back through the test, splitting it. 

Bird 1 lays 202 yards straight in front of the mat. The guns sit to the left of the lone tree on the side of a steep hill. Everything on the left side of the road slants to the left getting steeper the farther you go out.

Bird 2 is to the right of the main road. This bird is thrown right to from the base of a mound back towards the back of the first bird. This bird is 164 yards from the mat.
 
 

Callbacks to the 7th Series

  21 dogs are called back to the 7th Series: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 30.

Dogs dropped: # 29 and 32.

We will be starting the 7th series with dog #27.

Conclusion of the 6th Series - Water Double with Ducks

 The 6th Series, a Water Double with Ducks started when dog #20 came to the line at 10:42 am. The weather warmed up nicely in the low 80's. Our gun change happened after dog #32 completed her run at 12:06 pm. We got back going with dog #2 at 12:12, ending this series with dog #18 at 1:44 pm.

We only had one no bird/re-run and one dog needed assistance from the guns.

For the most part the left bird was the trouble bird.

We will be back with the callbacks to the 7th series and the starting dog shortly. While you wait, enjoy another scrapbook of picture from "Behind The Line".

18. Third Creek's Miss Money Penny, "M," BLF, Lori Morgan

 M and Lori came to the line at 1:39 pm

Right Bird - M swam through the right pond, then angled up to the fall area where she made one loop just short then went to her bird.

Left Bird - M went into the left side of the left pond, exiting she went through the gap of the bushes and straight to the bird.

 


 

16. Mudslinger's Teerific Vision, "TJ," YLM, Clint Avant

 TJ and Clint came tot the line at 1:31 pm.

Right Bird - TJ went into the 1st pond on the right side. He exited and went into the guns just right of them. He quickly went down the tree line to his mark.

Left Bird - He swam the right pond and drove the hill to the right of the bushes. TJ angled up and went straight to the bird.

15. Steadfast John Bates Cork Of Winchester, "Boomer," BLM, Christian Alt

 Right Bird - Boomer went into the right pond, exited it then crossed the field and stopped just short of the bird. With one big loop and going back to the area right of the guns, he went along the tree line to the bird.

Left Bird - Boomer swam through the left pond, then went through the gap in the bushes straight to the bird.

 


 

13. Hot Lips Houlihan, "Houli," CLF, Delana Potter-Meiers

  Houli and Delana came to the line at 1:11 pm.

Right Bird - Houli went straight through the pond to her mark.

Left Bird - Going into the left pond, Houli went straight through it, up through the gap in the bushes directly to her bird.


 

12. Green Rivers Unchained, "Link," BLF, Marc Patton

Link and Marc came to the line at 1:02 pm.

Right Bird - Link went into the right pond and exited early. She ran into the heavy Evergreens coming out to the wrong side of the guns where she established a hunt way deep and right of the tree line. She worked it out and got her bird.

Left Bird - Crossing the left pond, Link went straight up the hill to the right of the guns. Getting behind the mound, she moved over to the left of the guns and got her bird.

 


 

9. Topbrass Flying Redd Hawk Of Mtn Sky, "Redd," GM, Wayne Dorband

 Redd and Wayne came to the line at 12:57 pm. 

Right Bird - Redd took the levee between the two ponds, not touching any water straight to the area right of the guns then onto the fall area to get his bird.

Left Bird - Taking the levee again, Redd went in to the right of the guns. He hunted the tree line before moving over to the correct side and getting his bird.

 


 

Summer is Back!!

As predicted, our temps have reached in the 80's today. Currently we are at 81 degrees with mostly sunny skies with a SW wind of 14 mph.

The forecast looks great for tonight as it will be clear with a low of 58 degrees! 

8. Blue Oyster Rush, "Rush," BLM, Pamela King

 Rush and Pam came to the line at 12:49 pm

Right Bird - Rush went across the right pond then straight to the fall area but stopped just short of the bird. With a tight hunt area left and right, he found his mark.

Left Bird - Straight through the pond and to the bird.

 



7. Legacys Coal-Fired Simmer Down, "Ash," BLM, Cynean Bartlett

 Ash & Cynean came to the line at 12:42 pm.

Right Bird - Ash went across the right pond then straight to the fall area, but missed the bird. One big loop and getting back to the tree line, he got his bird.

Left Bird - Ash went through the left pond, through the gap in the bushes to drive straight in to the bird.




5. Wilson's Duck Farm Tucker, "Tucker," BLM, Clint Avant

Tucker and Clint came to the line at 12:35 pm.

Right Bird - Tucker went into the first on the right side. he went out and up the area right of the guns going into the trees. He worked his way left placing himself behind the guns, then he went down to get the bird.

Left Bird - In and out of the left pond and straight to the bird.




4. Croc's Appetite For Destruction, "Axl," BLM, Christian Alt

Axl and Christian came to the line at 12:28 am.

Right Bird - Axl swam across the right pond towards the bird. Getting under the arc, he turned to the left to get the bird.

Left Bird - Went through the left pond and up straight to his bird.




3. Lone Star's Ramblin Randy, "Randy," YLM, David Graf

Randy and David came to the line at 12:19 pm

Right Bird - Randy went across the right pond exiting in the middle. he ran to the fall area, but hunted left to right before he got his bird.

Left Bird - Getting in the very right corner of the left pond, Randy ran straight to the bird.




2. Ford's Take A Chance On Me, "Chance," BLM, Larry Ford

Chance and Larry came to the line at 12:12 pm

Right Bird - Chance went into the first pond with a swim down the middle. He got out and went in behind the guns and then on to his bird.

Left Bird - Chance toed the left hand corner of the right side pond and skipped the left side pond. He went up to the tree line right of the guns, then worked his way down the tree line to the bird.




6th Series - Gun Change

 After dog #32 completed this series we had our gun change. This test seems to running smoothly. We have only had one no bird/re-run and one dog had to be helped by the guns.

The weather is sunny and as always, its a great day to be at a National! 

Stay tuned as dog #2 will be up shortly.

32. B Bizzy, "Bea," BLF, Seth Steenburgen

 Bea and Seth came to the line at 12:00 pm.

Right Bird - Bea got into the right pond on a good angle. Exiting, she went straight to the fall area, made two small turns and got her duck.

Left Bird - Bea ran on the levee between the two ponds and headed back to the right guns. The long guns had to come out and help her.

 


 

30. Rimfire's I'm Your Huckleberry, "Huck," BLM, Rod Sage

 Huck and Rod came to the line at 11:54 am

Right Bird - Huck went across the pond and up to the fall area. He hunted back and forth along the tree line until he got the bird.

Left Bird - Getting in the left pond, Huck exited the water, then went through the brush pile gap and straight to the bird.

 


 

29. Carlitta, "Carli," BLF, Luann Pleasant

 Carli and Luann came to the line at 11:45 am.

Right Bird - Carli went across the pond and straight to her bird.

Left Bird - Confused, Carli turned and came back. She was resent and went into the left pond. going left of the bushes she went straight to the fall area.

 


 

Re-Run - 21. I'll Have Another, "Ace," BLM, James Roberts

 Ace and James came to the line for their re-run at 11:39 am.

Right Bird - Across the pond and straight to the bird.

Left Bird - Ace entered the pond on the left side. He angled to the right. Going up to the trees, right of the guns he made pass before coming back to the left side to get his bird.


28. Dry Creeks Tru Blu, "Trudy," BLF, George Metka

 Trudy & George came to the line at 11:31 am.

Right Bird - Trudy went into the right on a perfect line up to her bird.

Left Bird - Taking the line through the pond, she went up through the gap in the bushes and to her bird.
