Day 2 - Tuesday, October 6, 2020

Good Morning from Sedalia, MO, home of the 2020 National Retriever Derby Club Championship on the beautiful property of Bob & Barbara Hayden's Wood Dale Farms.

With day one in the books, we completed two series. Series One, Double Land with two roosters, started with dog #2 coming to the line at 8:17 am. We completed the series at 10:58 am calling back 31 dogs, one being dropped.

The second series, Water Double with two ducks, started at 11:58 am with dog # 10 coming to the line. This series ended with two dogs being dropped and 29 callbacks. The end of series two also brought the end of our day at 3:11 pm.

The National started with a brisk morning but warming up nicely. The wind became a bit of an issue earlier in the day with having gusts of over 15 mph. All in all, it was a great day to be in the field with these amazing derby dogs.

Today, we will start the third series with the test dogs being called to the line at 7:45 am and the first running dog #18 at 8:00 am.

The weather is just going to continue to get warmer. We are at 55 degrees, with a high of 78. However, the wind continues to be an issue as we are experiencing high winds coming in from the SW at 15 mph. We will see if this will affect the dog work.
